Chase Ready Days

Our Chase Ready Days form a vital part of the transition programme at Cannock Chase High School. Taking place in June, following in-person visits to primary schools, these two full days provide Year 6 students with an opportunity to experience life as a Chase student prior to joining us in September.

During Chase Ready Days, students spend time with their form tutor and tutor group, allowing them to begin building positive relationships and familiarise themselves with the school environment. They will experience a range of lessons across different subjects, gaining valuable insight into secondary school learning and expectations. Students also have the opportunity to enjoy lunch from our canteen, helping them to feel comfortable and confident with our dining facilities.

Throughout both days, there is extensive support from staff, as well as our Year 11 prefects and Sixth Form Leadership Team, who act as approachable guides and positive role models. Chase Ready Days are designed to ensure that every child feels welcomed, supported, and fully prepared to begin their journey with us at Cannock Chase High School.

Chase Ready Days really helped me feel settled and ready for life at Cannock Chase High School. I loved meeting my tutor and my tutor group – they now feel like a family to me. I also really enjoyed trying the pizza bagels from the school canteen. It made me feel excited to start Year 7 because I knew I would be happy here.”

For our Chase Ready Days, students are to meet at Lower School Hall at 8.45am. Students should wear the clothing they usually wear to attend their current Primary School. They should bring a pencil case, with a minimum of two black pens, one pencil, one ruler and one eraser. They will also need to bring a water bottle and a packed lunch should they not wish to eat food from our school canteen. Students will be dismissed from Lower School from 3.00 pm (3.20 pm if waiting for older siblings).
