We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, of both academic and applied general (vocational) qualifications, supporting every student to achieve the profile of qualifications they need for their future.
In our 2018 Ofsted inspection, inspectors commented that 'As in the main school, the quality of teaching is good. Students have mature conversations with their teachers and engage thoroughly with their learning, which accelerates progress.'

Level 3 Courses
The Level 3 pathway is the traditional programme of study in Sixth Forms: a two year programme specifically for 16-19 year olds who wish to continue studying and who meet the entry criteria for A level and Applied General Level 3 programmes (please see the 'Entry Criteria' link for more information). Students studying this pathway will typically achieve the equivalent of three A levels or equivalents at the end of Year 13 in order to progress to university, apprenticeships or employment post Sixth Form. We encourage students to choose the equivalent of four qualifications in Year 12 and continue with three in Year 13.
The Guidance Programme
In addition to their core studies, students are offered the opportunity to pursue additional 'non-qualification activity', what we refer to as our Guidance Programme. This programme comprises of four core areas:
-
Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance, including work experience
-
Personal, Social and Health Education
-
SMSC (social, moral, spiritual and cultural education)
-
Study Skills
Please see the Guidance page of the Sixth Form section of our website for more details.
