SCHOOL LIBRARY – BOOK OF THE WEEK

June 24, 2014 in Front Page News by Mr D Morrey

Exciting, scary and 100% Darren Shan, ‘ZOM-B MISSION’ is the seventh book in this series. Action packed with a very nice cliff hanger, but where’s Mr. Dowling!

Welcome to Cannock Chase High School

September 3, 2013 in Front Page News by Mr D Morrey

drama292More about Cannock Chase High School

On behalf of students and staff, I would like to welcome you to the Cannock Chase High School website

- Barrie Scott, Headteacher

CCHS is an 11-19 state-funded comprehensive school with Academy status, which was awarded to the  school in 2011 in recognition of our continuing success in improving standards. We are one of the highest  achieving schools in the area.

We have 1200 students on roll, with over 200 in the Sixth Form. Our academy status enables us to work closely with our partner primary schools, other secondary schools, colleges and local businesses, enabling us to continue to improve standards of achievement across Cannock and surrounding areas. Our 2013 Open Evening is on 24 September, and you are also welcome to visit the school at any time: please telephone reception to arrange this.

Our results in 2013 place us in the top 5% of similar schools nationally, above the national average for all schools. The DfE said that in 2013 “There is no better school within a 75 mile radius”. In 2013 78% of our students in year 11 achieved 5 GCSEs, with 70% of them achieving 5 or more A*-C grades including English and Maths. 40% of our students achieved the top grades at A Level (A*/A/B) with 70% achieving at least a grade C. 20% of our year 13 students won places at some of the top Russell Group universities. We are very proud of our successes, and of our students.

Cannock Chase High School is a great place to study and to work.
